Note from Keith: Sometimes, odd things come to mind when I look at my work. This is one of the few pieces I have done recently where I didn’t design the characters that I illustrated. That is unusual, but is not the first thing I think of when I look at it. The mountain in the background is what captures my attention. For a time, I lived in Tucson, Arizona. It’s a town that is surrounded by mountains. One of the ranges is the Santa Catalina Mountains, and from my old backyard I had a terrific view of them. I painted this mountain based on the panorama that greeted me from out of the kitchen window each morning at breakfast.
