Note from Keith: This cover needed to have the feeling that it was a doorway into a mythical fantasy realm, magical and inviting. When I finished the illustration, it was lacking something. A friend of mine pointed out that, while it was a beautiful landscape, there was nothing alive. That was it! I added birds to the sky and that brought the painting to life.
